AWS Global Ambassador Summit, Seattle
I’m honored to have recently returned to the country after attending the AWS Global Ambassador Summit at AWS headquarters in Seattle, USA, for the second consecutive year. This 3-day event brought together Ambassadors from around the globe, alongside leaders from within the AWS organization.
Day 1
We learned from AWS about the advancements in Amazon Q Developer and its future trajectory, explored Quantum Computing with Amazon Braket, and gained insights into how AWS leverages social media to monitor and amplify their brand. We also delved into the culture of innovation and received the latest updates on Amazon GuardDuty. A highlight for me, as always, was hearing from our peers during the Ambassador Lightning Talks, which is one of my favorite parts of the event.
A Lightning Talk is a brief, time-bound presentation, typically lasting 3 to 10 minutes. The goal is to focus on a single core concept, making it concise yet impactful, offering a quick way to share knowledge or spark interest for further exploration.
The day concluded with a Networking Reception, where top Ambassadors from various global regions were recognized, and Gold Jackets were awarded to those holding all active AWS Certifications. Congratulations to all the winners! Having received the award myself at last year’s event, I know firsthand what a significant achievement it is.
Day 2
Another day filled with insightful and engaging sessions, including a Partner Network leadership roundtable, discussions on how partners can leverage GameDay, tips for delivering an effective keynote presentation, and strategies to simplify the consumption of AWS Partner professional services through the AWS Marketplace. We also had an inspiring talk from Gretchen Libby, who shared her career journey in the media industry as part of a discussion on Women in Tech.
In the evening, we visited ‘Deep Dive,’ a speakeasy-style bar located beneath the Amazon Spheres, which was an amazing experience.
Day 3
The final day of the event focused on AWS Partner Solutions, highlighting SaaS Factory, cloud-native development, and how Amazon Q is poised to be a game changer given its current trajectory. We also delved into topics such as inclusion, diversity, and equity, as well as the ethical considerations surrounding these values within generative AI initiatives. Additionally, there was an in-depth discussion on the roadmap for AWS CI/CD services and a thought-provoking session on cultivating the innovator’s mindset.
In the evening, we headed to The Garage for the annual AWS Ambassador Bowl Off, which also featured pool and arcade games. It was a great opportunity for everyone to network and a fun way to wrap up a long week.
