AWS re:Invent 2021 - Keynote Recap
Unfortunately as a result of my own personal situation during the Covid-19 pandemic, I’ve not been able to attend AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas and won’t be able to attend this year either. When I’ve been in previous years (2017 & 2019), I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and have found the opportunities for learning and networking with other like minded individuals really worthwhile. All being well I plan to be in attendance in 2023!
One of the people that I met back in 2019 was Mike Chambers who at the time was working for Linux Academy whom since has been acquired by A Cloud Guru. Mike is an AWS Hero for Machine Learning whom like myself is English but has since emigrated to Australia.
Note: Mike has an amazing course on teachable for the AWS Machine Learning - Specialty Exam that I can personally recommend as I used it myself for passing the exam.
Anyway, since I missed out on attending in person and still wanting to feel like I was a part of it albeit remotely; I decided to watch Mike’s Live Event he was hosting on YouTube for Midnight Madness.
Following on from that live event, Mike messaged me on LinkedIn and asked me if I’d like to be a part of his live event recap following the Adam Selipsky keynote. Having not done anything lke that in the past, but excited at the opportunity - I of course accepted. For this session, I was also joined by Carlos Cortez - AWS Hero for Machine Learning and Jenn Bergstrom - AWS Community Builder. We discussed a variety of areas including our thoughts on the keynote, the new service announcemnts and what else we were hoping to be announced.
